How information is used in the award workspace, where to manage your details and how to contact the team about privacy.
Information in your portal
Registration collects your name, email addresses, mobile number, date of birth, location, employer, role and answers about previous entries and support needs. Your account also holds your JBA number, selected essay topic, profile photo, essay versions, messages and application progress.
These details support account access, administration of your entry, judging and communication about the award. Profile photos are cropped and optimised before storage. Your original photo is not uploaded by the profile editor.
Access within the award
Administrators manage registrations and the award process. Alumni with the relevant access can support entrants and view entries. Judges are restricted to their assigned applications and essays. Conversations are available to their participants.
Your application and private uploads are not published in the public essay library by the registration process. The public library contains previous award materials already published on the original website.
Services supporting the website
The rebuild uses Neon for database and authentication services, Cloudflare R2 for uploaded files, Resend for transactional email and Vercel for hosting. Sign-in uses account sessions. The portal remembers your sidebar preference in browser storage.
Some pages include Vimeo or YouTube media. Loading third-party media connects your browser to that provider, whose privacy terms also apply. Podcast players load after you choose to play an episode.
Managing your information
Use your portal to update registration details, your profile photo, password and in-app notification preferences. Essential account emails, such as verification messages, remain separate from optional in-app preferences.
Contact the award team for questions about access, correction, deletion or retention of your information. Requests that affect an award entry should include your JBA number.

Email entries@joeberryaward.com.au with your question. Do not include your password or verification code.

Information we collect
When you visit our website, our web server collects anonymous information regarding the number of visitors to the site, the number of pages viewed and the pages most frequently viewed. Users will not be identified. The information collected will be used to evaluate the effectiveness of our website.
